Fusignano, San Rocco Civic Museum

San Rocco Civic  Museum was inaugurated in 2001 as part of the complex hosting the hospital building of the 18th century. The museum is well known for its collection of some representative and devotional plaques of the most important Italian ceramic schools going from the 17th to the 20th century. The collection is the fundamental core of the museum. It includes more than 150 plaques and originates from the donation of professor Sergio Baroni. Other donations step by step enriched the museum: among these, there is the fund donated by the heirs of sculptor Raul Vistoli (1915-1990) which is now hosted in the rooms situated at the ground floor of the building. The sculptures, in part of large format, document the steps of the creative path of Vistoli. The sculptor was born in Fusignano but, since 1938, he worked in Rome where he was given many recognitions as the author of monumental and religious works. San Rocco Civic Museum also hosts some exhibitions during the year, with particular attention to the local artistic expression of the 20th century.
