Grandezze & Meraviglie

Grandezze & Meraviglie Estense Music Festival was born in 1998 in Modena on the occasion of the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the transfer of the Estense court from Ferrara to Modena. Today it is one of the most important ancient music recurrent event at a national and international level.

It was awarded the 28th Abbiati Prize of Musical Critics as “best initiative of 2008” with the following motivation: to Grandezze & Meraviglie Estense Music Festival for its capacity of combining the popularization of  European ancient and baroque repertoires with the promotion of the Estense musical heritage (especially that of Ducal Collections) through a ten years now widespread interdisciplinary scheduling committed to cherished and eminent groups.

Grandezze & Meraviglie offers concerts and cultural, educational, and interdisciplinary activities as masterclasses, meetings with schools, and a cycle of conferences under the name of “The Languages of the Arts” on different selected themes.
